⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Five Star Romance

This story captivated me from the very first paragraph—two beautiful estates, one like a dreamland and the other haunted by its specters and people alike. It’s filled with all the things I love in a book, murder, eerie passageways, forbidden love, and villains straight out of a Charlotte Brontë novel. This gothic romance has enchanted me, keeping me company through many a lonely night. One of my new favorites tales of love, betrayal, and redemption

I’ve included a few sneak peeks from the first chapter, along with some chapter titles for those, like me, who love a glimpse behind the curtain – John & LoLo

WHY HISTORICAL FICTION?

We are a part of a world with a past. Historical Fiction allows us to re-enter the past and be touched deeply by it.

Instead of reading about or memorizing a list of facts, e.g., the Holocaust happened, the Declaration of Independence was signed, etc. Historical Fiction takes us on a journey into the depths of feeling what it was like to experience the emotions of living during that time period. Such as in Charles Dickens’ Historical Fiction,

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.”

I literally cried for three days after reading Dickens’s famous novel, The Tale of Two Cities.

Historical Fiction can move us and illuminate our soul to experience historical events as we come to our own thoughts and conclusions about what it was like for real people to live in such a time and place.

WHY HISTORICAL ROMANCE NOVELS?

With the chaos surrounding us, I will go out on a limb and say that Romance Novels are more important to the world than ever before.

I think we all would agree that Love is the most powerful force on the earth. And every facet of Love is depicted and emotionally felt in a truly good historical romance novel.

“I loved her against reason, against promise, against peace, against hope, against happiness, against all discouragement that could be.”

“Never close your lips to those whom you have already opened your heart.” A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

Perhaps North Korea knows the impact a romance novel can have to move the hearts of people. Maybe that is why, as the Governing elite desires to horrifically suppress their people, they have banned all books & movies that depict romance. Why? Because all love, especially romantic love, touches on the heart of God and tells us that we are more than just the physical world around us. We are created to love and to be loved.

WHAT HISTORICAL ROMANCE NOVELS HAVE IMPACTED YOU?

I would love to know.

Arthur’s Dream

Suddenly, he recalled a part of the dream. He was walking through a black iron gate in an unfamiliar courtyard with aging trees. Feeling the brisk air along a lonely path scattered about with fallen leaves, he had the sense that he was at a monastery or on the grounds of an old churchyard in Scotland. The pathway was lined with deciduous trees weighed down with damp, heavy, golden and red autumn leaves. The scene was breathtaking. In the dream, Arthur paused to admire the view until his eyes noticed a statue standing larger than life in the middle of the courtyard. He thought it to be a sculpture of an apostle, as the figure wore a heavy robe and carried a cross. Saint Andrew came to his mind–the patron saint of Scotland.

Hidden at Woodrush Hall: A Historical Romance of Secrets, Second Chances, and Danger

In the rugged hills of Scotland stands the seemingly forgotten estate of Woodrush Hall — a weathered castle wrapped in ivy and mystery. Beneath its ancient stones lie buried secrets… and within its halls walks Rose, a quiet servant girl with a shadowed past and a name that’s not her own.

Haunted by a tragic loss and hiding from a world that once betrayed her, Rose intends to remain unfound.

Even Lady Buchan, the Marchioness of Woodrush Hall, has not the faintest notion as to who her servant Rose really is. It seems the esteemed Marchioness does not hear the whisperings of secrets in the ancient halls and candle-lit corridors of her own house. And she is certainly unaware that the mystery entwined around Rose is also connected to her own.

But the fragile walls of secrecy are beginning to crumble, especially when Arthur, the son of the Duke of Belcourt, unexpectedly arrives at Woodrush Hall. Once Rose’s first and only love, Arthur’s presence in the house threatens to unravel everything she’s worked so hard to protect.

Will Rose keep her identity hidden—knowing that discovery could destroy them both?
