This story captivated me from the very first paragraph—two beautiful estates, one like a dreamland and the other haunted by its specters and people alike. It’s filled with all the things I love in a book, murder, eerie passageways, forbidden love, and villains straight out of a Charlotte Brontë novel. This gothic romance has enchanted me, keeping me company through many a lonely night. One of my new favorites tales of love, betrayal, and redemption.
